How can I recover files from second space after it been deleted?

In the process of installing a custom rom i forgot to back up my second space. I had some important stuff there, so i tried rooting my device to try and recover those files, but so far it didn't help.

Is it still possible to recover those deleted files from second space?

If anyone has any clue on how to, please tell me because i'm kind of desperate here
