Total newbie with Mi3 and confused on how to update.

I got my Mi3 today. I want to flash it with xiaomi.eu rom and root it. I started from here:

I cannot, the updater doesn't find any new updates.


Then I tried this:

I cannot, the package is not a fastboot version? It does not...
